blog #4: The final stretch of art school

Only one month left of school??!!

Here’s what I’m going to be up to for the enxt month

March flew by, and suddenly I find myself with just a month left of school and the daunting realization that my Senior Show is swiftly approaching. As I contemplate the future, job rejections remind me that patience and trust in the process are essential. However, my focus remains on finishing the year strongly.

Strategic Planning

In anticipation of my Senior Show on May 4th, I've adopted a proactive approach. A meticulously crafted calendar hangs on my studio wall, delineating weekly painting targets. Organization is my friend, with digital planning tools aiding in setting clear daily and weekly goals.

Accountability and Ambition

Accountability is paramount. I commit to staying in the studio until the day's goals are met, understanding that this discipline brings long-term success.

Goals Ahead

My objectives for the upcoming month are clear. I aim to complete 4-6 additional paintings, ensuring a surplus for curation purposes. Collage work continues, with a focus on completing 6 more 12 x 12 in. squares before shifting attention back to painting.

Beyond Art

Yet, art isn't my sole focus. Parapsychology and Entrepreneurship classes demand attention, each with its own set of assignments. Strategic planning is key, enabling me to balance studio work with academic responsibilities. I have three papers and two presentations to finish before the semester ends which I try to integrate little by little when I need a break from the studio.

Managing Everything

Integrating smaller assignments into my studio practice requires meticulous time management. By organizing my tasks, I free up mental space to navigate the countless responsibilities.

The Final Stretch

As I navigate this busy period, I strive to maintain consistency in my online presence. Join me on Instagram for behind-the-scenes glimpses into life as an art student and the journey towards my Senior Show.
